FUN FACT:
Having recently retired from professional rugby, James is well aware of the demands of a professional rugby player. Having played for Tasman, Taranaki, London Irish, Coca Cola Red Sparks the New Zealand Sevens team and above all the Hurricanes, James has some serious international experience.
After the departure of Carlos Spencer from the Hurricanes in 2020 and further hip surgery, James Marshall quickly found himself as part of the coaching group for the remainder of the season. In a matter of days he went from a player to a coach and was part of the coaching group for the remainder of the 2020 season. Following this, Jame and his family made the move to Nelson where he took up the Assistant coach role for the Tasman Mako.
When not being a lad of a coach, James is a lad of a presenter! Hosting his very own podcast called “What a Lad”, which sees him chat to past and present professional rugby players. Through these great yarns, James helps players share their own journeys and experiences through the game of footy.
